***EVENT CANCELLATION NOTICE***
Due to
unexpected scheduling conflicts with lead actress Tippi Hedren, the
"Night of Good' fundraiser event scheduled for Saturday, September 15 at
Chantilly Farm has been cancelled. We will keep you posted as we have more
details and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
Hollywood is coming to Floyd and we couldn't be more excited! Classic film star
Tippi Hedren, known for her leading roles in such classics as Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds' and 'Marnie', will be starring in the upcoming feature film 'House of Good and Evil' that will be shooting in Floyd this fall.
The producers of the upcoming film have partnered with local businesses and individuals to host 'A Night of Good with Tippi Hedren', an event slated to raise money for the
Floyd County Humane Society,
the Shambala Preserve, and the
Roar Foundation. The latter two organizations were founded by Hedren and focus on providing sanctuary for large cats and animals.
Tippi Hedren will be making an appearance at the event which takes place from 6pm until 9pm at Chantilly Festival Farm in Floyd. Local restaurateur Natasha Shishkevich will be providing a gourmet selection of foods, and local beer and wine will be available for sale. Music is being provided by local entertainers.
"We can't express how happy we are to have the opportunity to be a part of this event", said Jason Gallimore of Chantilly Farm. "It's truly been incredible to see how so many people in the Floyd community have come together to help the filmmakers with anything that they've needed--it's a great example of the fantastic community spirit that we have here in Floyd County."
A silent auction at the event will feature some remarkable film memorabilia and attendees will even be given the chance to bid on having a role in the film! A separate auction item will feature a day for two on the film set, complete with lunch with the cast and crew!
Tickets for the event are $25 and can be purchased at the
Floyd County Chamber of Commerce located in the Village Green in Downtown Floyd. For more information call 540-745-4407 or email melodie@visitfloyd.org.
